This tutorial has opened up a world of options that I was not aware of. Basslines are something I’ve always struggled with, I could never get that ‘driving’ feeling behind them. After applying what I learned on a couple works in progress, I’m happy to say I finally got my basslines sounding full of life and loaded with in-your-face drive. The 2hr video is extremely easy to follow and the techniques can be used in any DAW (Ableton and Cubase user here). No other tutorial that I’ve seen goes into such depth and Allan did an amazing job of covering all basis. If you feel like there was something missing with your bass, chances are he’s got it covered in this new tutorial. Recommend it for producers of all levels.

There are plenty of free tutorials around but few will provide the depth and detail required to get the driving bass sound Allan shows you here. This is as close to being in a room with a professional producer as possible (I imagine) and all for a very reasonable price. Easily understandable for beginners, I suspect plenty for experienced producers too – buy this if you are serious about improving. In fact, buy them all and save your time trawling the internet for tutorials of often questionable quality. Thanks Allan.

I have production experience and i thought i knew things but this video made me think again about some stuff .
I was taken back by how simple Allan made something that i always struggle with look and also had me eyes opened to the track referencing & correct referencing with voxengo span, something I’ve neglected in the .
I was able to go straight to ABLETON and re create the sub Allan made and then use his technique with my own plugins fairly quickly and its very effective ,( normally Id be messing with presets for lengths of time). This video changed that and has and Allan’s easily explained technique enabled me to take a different and more effective approach to the kick and bassline .
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for beginner or advanced levels —– 10/10 . Thanks Allan :]

This is probably the best kick and bassline tutorial for trance I have seen. The others I’ve seen are good but this one goes very in depth into the process of putting everything together for the base of your tracks. Topics covered included referencing , tuning , compression tips , eqing , and how to make your sounds gel together much better. From beginners to advanced producers there is definitely something you will pick up from this lesson to apply to your own productions. I’m looking forward to more tutorials in future and this is one worth every penny .

Would reccommend this tutorial for anybody starting out in production like myself as Allan goes into detail on each element of structuring a kick and bass and the small tweaks that you may not realise at the time but make all the difference in the end product and getting that driving sound that i havnt really seen on youtube tutorials… worth the purchase and great to see how an industry pro works….thanks Allan

Definitely recommend this tutorial. A lot of things i never knew you could do with Logic, explained in this.. It’s all 1 big learning process, and you will learn from this. Whether you’re new to production, intermediate, or advanced. Good work Allan. Shame you didn’t make these tutorials years ago. Cheers 🙂

I watched the whole tutorial twice. You can really learn how Allan chooses and processes the kickdrum, subbass and midbasses in his own tracks. I mean there’s no BS: the sounds are not prepared/processed before recording this tutorial – and he gets to the final result from scratch and live (showing the whole way! trial and error is always a part of real and creative music production). You don’t get just one “best” sollution for your kick and bass (as there isn’t a single perfect one) and it’s more like a framework for you to get started and work on improving your own sound. I would recommend this tutorial if you think your trance tracks lack a solid base, don’t have enough impact on the floor or sound muddy. There are a few really good points Allan makes in the tutorial that might not be very obvious whether you are a complete beginner or an intermediate-level producer. Worth the money 😉

Bought a few of Allan’s videos to see if I could pick up any new tips, only watched the kick n bass tutorial so far and I’m highly impressed so far as to how much detail he goes into, explaining everything he does (unlike other tutorials that I’ve seen online).
Looking forward to working my way through the other videos.
On top of that I can only describe Allan’s customer service as being first class.
Highly recommend using Allan for his tuition and tutorials.

As others say, there are tons of videos on how to do mid bass, but this is the best I’ve seen. It’s totally changed the way that I approach bass and gives tips that will save you a lot of time when creating the mids. Both my sound and workflow have improved massively due to this video – very helpful!
